I struggle with keyword research. Maybe you also do? Finding keywords isn’t actually the problem. I have a problem finding good ones.

When I used Google’s keyword tool I trusted the results 100%. Why wouldn’t I? Big company like that shouldn’t be giving false figures. Well, that’s not always the case.

The data returned isn’t accurate. But it will have been spot on at some time. I discovered the answer almost by pure chance.

I was going for a keyword that had roughly five thousand competing pages. I was pretty sure I could get a good result with that keyword. I started banging articles out left right and centre. Hundreds in fact.

It didn’t take long to notice there were now over 9000 competing sites. My heart sank, I thought my task was gonna be twice as hard now. It turned out that my articles were showing on these sites and ranking for the keyword.

If I had saw 9000 competing sites I would have passed this keyword by. A lot of these sites were ranking with my article so I had a lot of competition but most of it was my own articles. A nice situation to be in!

I knew I wasn’t going to get lucky all the time so I decided to try a keyword research service. I was looking to get some decent keywords delivered on a daily basis. I had figured that the daily cost against how much work I would save is value for my money.

Travis Sago was offering a keyword research service which I decided to try. Let’s face it, Travis is THE bum marketer. And I like bum marketing, I like it a lot.

If I can get a keyword or two in my in box each day then that saves me valuable time. At least a two hour saving. An hour or two of my time is highly valuable to me when all I have is time. Put that couples hours saved against the daily cost and it adds up to value.

All the big marketers bang on about outsourcing. I see this as an outsourcing project. I’m paying someone else to research my keywords. I reckon that’s outsourcing.

If you’re interested in how the trial of the Instacash service went then head on over to my web site. I said earlier about how I got loads of articles published for my chosen keyword. I’ll also tell you how I did that at my site.
